Removing A Gang Tattoo
Many people get tattoos for various reasons. Gang related tattoos are no exception. The reasons why anyone gets a tattoo can be obvious especially when there are known names or symbols associated with them. However in recent years studies show that the number of gang members disassociating themselves from their groups has sky rocketed. There are many options for ex-gang members when they're ready to step out of that lifestyle. There are amazing people all over the world willing to extend their hands and resources to provide them an escape. Everything from expensive laser removal procedures to less expensive cover-up work can be done.
Help’s Out There
Ministry groups, churches and other non profit organizations offer assistance to gang members looking to remove gang related tattoos for no cost. They work closely with tattoo artists and doctors to find solutions that best work for the candidate. Most of the time, the money is raised through fund-raiser type events and/or private donations. Other times these groups reach out to specialists who are willing to perform the work for free or out of pocket. A lot of non profit organizations don’t stop at tattoo removal. They assist ex-members in finding jobs and good living situations.
Nothing’s For Free
Don’t be confused. A gang member can not receive these types of benefits without giving a little back. Most organizations require that ex members prove they have changed their lives and have no intentions of going back to certain lifestyles. They also require proof of community service participation, either with the program that’s helping them, or another similar program. It’s important for people unfamiliar with gang life to remember that gang members are people too and that most gang members suffer from poverty and lack skills needed to succeed in the world.
